more about BUILDING 30
In 2013, the City of Seattle completed a
$9 million renovation of this 1938 U.S. Navy building and airplane hangar, creating a vibrant arts and cultural hub within the park to benefit the region.
This project included seismic, fire safety and ADA improvements. In addition to activating the previously vacant west wing, the renovation maintained and created space in the east wing for organizations like EarthCorps, Thistle Theatre, PlantAmnesty, Bats Northwest, and Club Northwest. It also reopened the raw, useful hangar space and created another small to mid-size rental venue, the Workshop.
