In Converging Forms, artists Claire B. Jones and Rowan Eriksson expand the limits of their respective mediums while meditating on the ever-changing relationship between form and artistic identity.

Jones and Eriksson each have their own unique answer to the question of form: Jones’ illusory cotton canvas sculptures serve as distinct yet complementary foils to Eriksson’s colorful and humanistic mixed media works.

Both artists treat normative conceptions of gender as sites of contention incongruent with lived reality, and push back against these stereotypes in new and unexpected ways.

Sand Point Arts and Cultural Exchange acknowledge we are on the stolen and unceded ancestral land of the Duwamish, Suquamish, and Stillaguamish Tribes. We make this acknowledgment to remind ourselves that our work must strive to remedy this unjust colonization through our beliefs and actions.
